Re: Salt Water fishing around Palmy

Rockfisher would be your main to get into contact with as he also lives up there. There are fishing spots up and down the west coast, the otaki river is good and has two sides to it. The Te horo side you can access via old sims road and can get to the river along a 4wd track, it was quite rutty last...

Re: Secret spots

Pukerua Bay has some good spots the the wire rock, also red rocks around wellington there are good areas if you have a 4wd and will take on the drive around there. Make sure though your take gear to get your car out incase you get stuck. Kapiti itself is fairly flat especially Paraparaumu boat club ...

Re: Raumati Surfcasting Comp...

If you get there early parking and access is probably easiest at the raumati beach boat ramp at marine gardens. It does get busy tho even if the weather is bad so definitely worth arriving early if you are keen.

Re: Kingfish for christmas

Nice job guys, went for a fish at Te Horo near the river mouth yesterday and there was thousands of kahawai around which was nice to see. Caught a few to take home then thought i might try a spur of the moment live bait session given i could literally just throw in some salt water flies and pull in ...

Re: Snapper

Its definitely possible, but getting them consistently on the beaches around here is probably asking a bit much. I know they are caught more consistently on the beaches between Foxton and Wanganui and to give yourself the best chance you just gotta put the hours in at the right times ie change of li...

Snapper

Anyone picked up any snapper from the beach yet? Had a couple of night fishs at Te Horo over the last couple of weeks with pretty average results. First night red cod plague, second night tope plague. Might have to try a bit further north maybe.
